Tom Cruise”s latest film, Mission: Impossible 3, has had a disapointing opeing weekend, prompting suggestions the actor has past his peak.

MI:3 made just over $48m last weekend, depsite strong reviews - nearly $10m less than Mission Imposssible 2 made in 2000.

Cruise”s recent public outpourings over his relationship with Katie Homes and her pergnancy - as well as his controversial Scientology beliefs - are thought to have turned many movie goers off the aging action hero.

However Rob Moore, head of worldwide marketing and distribution for Paramount, the film”s production company, said he did not believe Cruise”s private life had had any impact on the opeing weekend figures.

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt finally confirmed rumors that had been circulating for months — that their marriage was in trouble. The couple has admitted they are separated in a joint statement which read, “We would like to announce that after seven years together we have decided to formally separate. This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration. We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another. We ask in advance for your kindness and sensitivity.”

The couple married for over four years aparently wanted different things. Friends say Brad Pitt wanted to start a family, but Jennifer Aniston is eager to start a movie career after 10 years on the sitcom friends. There are also reports that Pitt wanted to see more of his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie. Some sources even claim that Aniston overheard Pitt and Jolie having telephone sex. It’s an affair that both Pitt and Jolie have denied, although during a break in filming to promote his movie Troy, Pitt made this odd statement about marriage, “It’s not like it’s set in stone, that it has to be the perfect marriage. Don’t put all those expectations on it. Free yourself of those. Keep growing.” Can I use that explaination to my wife if I’m ever caught cheating?

Drew Says That She’s Had “Lots of Women”

I know just last year I was saying that the chicks from Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle need to shut the hell up. However if they’re going to be as up front as Drew Barrymore they can keep on talking. She’s finally gotten past chattering on about her movie and talked about something interesting.

“Do I like women sexually? Yeah, I do. Totally. I have always considered myself bisexual. I love a woman’s body. I think a woman and a woman together are beautiful, just as a man and a woman together are beautiful. Being with a woman is like exploring your own body, but through someone else.

When I was younger I used to go with lots of women. Totally - I love it.” That’s right, Drew’s got a taste for the lap flounder and she’s not shy about admitting it. She’s currently dating the drummer from the rock band The Strokes and she’s been through two failed marriages, but maybe she has been barking up the wrong tree.

Now if Drew includes some of her more personal interests in Charlie’s Angels 3 I’ll be the first in line!

British tabloids have reported that model-turned-actress Elizabeth Hurley’s relationship with fiancee Arun Nayar is on the rocks. This comes only a few months after fellow passengers on a transatlatic flight reported that the couple almost joined the mile high club right in front everyone else in first class. Seems that the problem is Nayar’s family, who are none too pleased with his high profile relationship with the celebrity actress. They are very traditional and don’t approve of her having a child out of wedlock or her still “close” frienship with ex Hugh Grant. The fact that Nayar has been seen gallavanting in Bombay’s nightclubs without Hurley is also raising eyebrows. A source is quoted as saying, “Arun’s family will certainly be pretty peeved about him and Liz. Indian families still have this conservative thing about brides not having a past. Liz has baby Damian from a relationship that ended acrimoniously. And her ex- boyfriend Hugh Grant is still hanging around. I doubt his parents will like any of this, and it will all be building pressure on Arun.”

Gotta say - if Arun doesn’t want Liz any more she can come my way

Sexy Blonde Celeb Jessica Simpson

ABC may not have picked up on pop tart Jessica Simpson’s sit com, which has had her playing a reporter for an ‘Entertainment Tonight’ type of show, but the casting news isn’t all bad for the beautiful blonde bombshell. Producers of the big screen version of the 70’s TV staple ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ have chosen Jessica Simpson to fill the cut offs made famous by Catherine Bach way back when (and I still remember her ass even tho I was just a kid). The news does come as something as a surprise since another star that is better known for her rack than for her singing, Britney Spears, had been lobbying long and hard for the role. No doubt Ms. Simpson’s flawless body and increased profile from her MTV series ‘Newlyweds’ helped her land the role. Jessica, reportedly told Star magazine, “I wanna wear those shorts so bad!” Yeah, but not half as much as we want to see it. The Dukes of Hazzard begins filming this summer and I for one will be watching for it very carefully!

No, lads and lasses, she is not saying that she wants to be married again but pouty lipped Angelina Jolie says that she will know the perfect man when she meets him because he will want to go and tie her down. She told this month’s Allure magazine, “I’ve never been tied up. I have a feeling the person that does it will be the one. I think that’s what I’d like.” She says that she had introduced her first two husbands, Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, to the more violent side of sex, but neither of them was willing to take it as far as she wanted, the poor little lambs. She says, “A lot of my relationships just weren’t honest enough. So I took them down different paths toward violence or wildness… to try to find somebody to hold me down and make me feel. S&M sex can be misinterpreted as violence. It’s really about trust. I like to push boundaries, both emotional and sexual, with another person. That’s when I’ve felt the sexiest. I’ve been in both submissive and dominant roles because I want more.”

And when asked if becoming a mother and being a little older has slowed her down, a mischievous Jolie says, “I guarantee you, my life is much more wild and free and headline-worthy today than it was when I was in all the headlines.”
